Rena Nemec

  

Visitation will be held 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m., all at St. William's Catholic Church in Midland. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 11, at St. William's Catholic Church in Midland, with Father Ron Garry officiating. Interment will be in the Midland Cemetery. Rena Nemec, age 91 of Midland, South Dakota, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Philip Nursing Home.
Henderena (DeYoung) Nemec better known as “Rena” to her family and friends was born September 6, 1918, the daughter of Jacob and Edith (Koenders) DeYoung in Midland, South Dakota. She grew up on her family’s farm/ranch northwest of Midland. She attended grade school at Eureka and the graduated from Midland High School. After graduation, she received her teaching certificate from Spearfish Normal. Rene taught one year of school at Eureka Rural School north of Midland, before teaching one year at Pheoba Rural School north of Midland.
She was united in marriage to Jerome T. Nemec on May 24, 1939 in Midland, South Dakota. To this union were born five children; Jerry, Patty, Larry, Richard, and Marjorie. After their marriage the made their home on Jerome’s farm/ranch twelve miles north of Midland.
Jerome died on July 16, 1984.
Rena continued to live on the farm-ranch for several years before moving into Midland.
In 1998, Rena moved into the Silverleaf Assisted Living Center in Philip and the in January 2001 she moved into the Philip Nursing Home, where she has since resided.
Rena enjoyed and was a long time member of the Victory Extension Club. She also enjoyed music by listening, or playing the organ and piano. She was also a member of St. William’s Catholic Church and St. William’s Altar Society.
Rena was the last of the older Nemec generation.
Grateful for having shared her life are her four children, Jerry Nemec and his wife Sonia of Midland, Richard Nemec of Midland, Larry Nemec and his wife Mary of Pierre, and Marjorie Iwan of Midland; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister Margaret Crawford of Pratt, Kansas; a son-in-law Jerry Henderson of Valentine, Nebraska; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Rena was preceded in death by her husband Jerome, a daughter Patty Henderson; her parents, and three brothers, Harold, Herbert, and Richard.


Lois Grimme

  

Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, at the Kadoka City Auditorium, and one hour preceding the services at the auditorium on Monday. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 15, at the Kadoka City Auditorium, with Pastor Gary McCubbin officiating. Interment will be at a later date at the Tyndall Cemetery in Tyndall, South Dakota. A memorial is established. Arrangements are with the Rush Funeral Chapel of Kadoka. Lois Grimme, age 72 of Belvidere, South Dakota, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at her home in Belvidere.
Survivors include her husband Larry Grimme of Belvidere; three sons Michael Grimme and his wife Kim of Yankton, Steven Grimme and his friend Nancy Dangel of Yankton, and Marty Grimme and his wife Stacey of Yankton; five grandchildren Rylan and Rayce Grimme, and Preston, Lincoln, and Levi Dangel; three brothers Paul Luebke and his wife Marlene of Parkston, Henry Luebke and his wife Carol of Sioux Falls, and Martin Jr. “Duke” Luebke and his wife Karen of Sioux Falls; six sisters Eunice Wermers of Spillville, Iowa, Lorna Peterson and her husband Ed of Mitchell, Marie Peterson and her husband Delbert of Mitchel, Myrna Gammon and her husband Ron of Memphis, Tennessee, Betty Brown and her husband David of Memphis, and Lavonne Black and her husband David of Memphis; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother-in-law Bill Wermers.

Richard L. Wolff

  

Funeral services for Richard L. Wolff, age 81, of Meadow, SD, will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Indian Creek Lutheran Church near Meadow, SD. Pastor Harold Delbridge will officiate with burial in the Chance Cemetery at Meadow. Visitation will be on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, March 13 at the Indian Creek Lutheran Church near Meadow.

Richard Lincoln Wolff left us for a better place on March 6, 2010 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 17 days.

Grateful for having shared Richard’s life are his wife, Georgine, Lemmon, SD; two sons, Curt (Anita) Wolff, Rapid City, SD and Tracy (Mary) Wolff, Meadow, SD; one daughter, Darlyce (Bill) Bollwerk, Rapid City, SD; nine grandchildren, Alex, Jacob and Bryant Wolff (Curt’s), Whitney (fiancé Heinrich Mueller), Tharen, Christian and Lance Wolff (Tracy’s), Samantha and Carlee Bollwerk (Darlyce’s); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; nine brothers and seven sisters.
